Shopping for Popular Styles of Watch Bands

There are many watch bands on the market and sometimes it can be a bit mind boggling to choose the right one for your watch.  Often the watch band is the first part of the watch to break; it is very important to choose something that is good quality and will last you a long time.  It is also a good idea to choose a band that goes well with the style of the watch.  Often it is wise to choose the same kind of band as you had before, i.e., if your watch had a leather band, then you can just as easily choose another leather band.  Some people, however, prefer metal bands because they feel more durable than the leather ones, however, this is arguable.  It all really depends on the brand name you get and the type of quality it is.  Bands made from gold, silver, titanium, nylon with leather or just leather alone, polyurethane and different kinds of rubber, are a few of the most popular types of materials used.  Below is a rundown of a few well known brand names that you should consider.

Timex watch bands are good quality and will fit not only Timex but also Casio watches.  You should be sure to measure the exact size of the old band so you know what size to get, or better yet, take the old band, or the watch itself with you when you go to buy the replacement band. 

Casio watch bands are made in many different styles; each band comes with a list of Casio watch models that it will fit.  If you own a Casio watch then it is easy to find the exact original replacement band that you need for it.  The cost will vary depending on what kind of band you buy; some are as low as $12 and others as high as $53. The replacement watch bands are made in nylon/leather, leather, or stainless steel materials.

For those who own a Luminox watch, Luminox watch bands are not all that hard to find.  The Luminox replacement bands made from rubber, nylon, polyurethane and titanium and all of them, except the titanium one, cost in the range of $20 to $30, depending on the exact one you get.  The titanium one costs over $100 and it is important to note that while it is made by the same manufacturer that makes Luminox watches, it is not an authentic Luminox replacement watch strap and will not have their brand name on it.

Invicta watch bands have an advantage in that they are not only made as replacement bands for their own brand name of watches but they can also be used for other brands of watches if you make sure to get the right size.  Invicta makes some very nice looking snakeskin watch straps as well as ones that have stainless steel together with either black leather or black rubber.  These types are a quite a bit costlier than most other replacement straps but they are of good quality and look quite good on most watches.

Skagen watch bands make a good choice if you need something that is a bit more formal looking as opposed to a sports watchband.  They come in black, light and dark brown leather watch bands at a pretty affordable price.  For just a bit over $20 you can get the color and size of your choice.

Citizen watch bands tend to be a bit pricier than most of the other brand names mentioned, but they do make some nice, high-end bands.  You can get stainless steel, leather, or rubber bands from them; they have bands that will suit most any style of watch.
