Shopping for 3 Inch Car Speakers

By

Car speakers, though identical to other loudspeaker designs, come with specialized components designed for use exclusively in mobile environments and they enable us to listen to music at differing sound levels. Today, the designs of these speakers have significantly improved to the point that we can find them very readily in a variety of shapes and colors. Most vehicles these days come from the factory fitted with 3 or 3 1/2 inch car speakers, which are basically mid range speakers that play music from around 300 or 500 Hz up to the upper level where the tweeter starts.

While a 3 inch car speaker may not be a powerhouse for sound results that other kinds of speakers are known for, it has its uses and can be as good or functional as any other car speaker. These speakers usually measure about 3 inches to 3.5 inches in diameter and are versatile enough that they can be installed in a variety of positions in the car.  They produce sound that is adequate and acceptable for most drivers.  They are typically the perfect fit in those little areas where other speakers would ordinarily not fit in and they have been hailed as the most innovative way to get the best sound in the smallest possible spaces.

3 inch car speakers are standard since most cars come from the factory equipped with them already. They are adequate for normal audio functions like listening to music, or radio talk shows and weather updates. They also have an auxiliary use in their cooperative role as transmitter of sounds to both the driver and passengers.
3” car speakers can be readily purchased at any car accessory retailer or online. There are different brands manufactured by reputable companies like Sony and Pioneer and if you are installing them yourself, it will be advantageous to you if you carry out a proper research on the different models available and choose what best meets your needs.

A set of 3 inch car speakers usually come with four speakers and in some cases, a remote control, there is also a user manual included and some connecting wires unless of course they are wireless. If your speakers are wired, they must be connected properly to avoid any short circuiting and be sure to check that they come with extended warranty.   Since these speakers are pretty much standard with all new cars today, most car companies now offer a limited free satellite radio subscription along with the car. The quality of a particular system depends more on the manufacturer than anything else. Some manufacturers are more reputable than others and some of the bigger names include Sony and Pioneer. 3 inch car speakers range in prices anywhere from $9.00 to $1,900 and the range in quality is that varied also.
